Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your first visit.

What should I wear to my first trial class? β–Ύ

Wear comfortable, form-fitting athletic clothing that allows you to move freely β€” leggings, a fitted top, and bare feet or socks for contemporary; ballet slippers are welcome if you have them. For hip-hop, clean sneakers are perfect. We provide loaner ballet slippers for first-time visitors at no charge.

Do I need previous dance experience? β–Ύ

Not at all! We welcome complete beginners across all age groups. Our instructors are skilled at adapting exercises to each student's level. Many of our most accomplished dancers started with zero experience. Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

What is your cancellation policy? β–Ύ

We require 24-hour notice for class cancellations to avoid being charged. Private lessons have a 48-hour cancellation window. Monthly memberships can be paused or cancelled with 14 days' notice. We understand emergencies happen β€” just reach out and we'll work with you.

Are there performance opportunities? β–Ύ

Absolutely! We host two major showcases each year β€” a winter gala in December and a spring recital in June. Additionally, our competitive ensemble performs at regional and national competitions. Participation is always optional; many students dance purely for the joy of it without ever performing on stage.

Can parents observe classes? β–Ύ

For our kids' classes, we have a dedicated viewing lounge with large windows where parents can watch comfortably. For adult classes, we offer observation weeks twice per semester. Outside of those times, we ask that observers remain in the lounge area to maintain a focused class environment.

What age groups do you teach? β–Ύ

We offer classes for ages 3 through adult. Our programs are divided into: Tiny Toes (ages 3–5), Kids (ages 6–10), Youth (ages 11–14), Teen (ages 15–17), and Adult (18+). Within each age group, we have multiple skill levels so every dancer finds the right fit.

How do I choose the right class level? β–Ύ

If you're new to dance, we recommend starting with a Beginner or Foundations class regardless of your fitness level. For those with prior experience, our instructors can assess your skills during a trial class and recommend the appropriate level. You can also schedule a free 10-minute placement consultation by calling us at (310) 555-2743.
